The Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology offers both undergraduate and graduate programs leading to rewarding careers in plant pathology and environmental microbiology. Graduate students may specialize in such areas as plant microbiology, genomics, disease management, microbial ecology, and molecular plant-microbe interactions.

Our undergraduate program offers a degree in Bioenvironmental Sciences (BESC) that trains students for careers in the environmental, consulting, and governmental areas of microbiology. You are invited to browse our website and learn more about our educational, research, and outreach programs.

Dr. George Di Giovanni has been named a 2008 Faculty Fellow of Texas AgriLife Research. This award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding and productive contributions to the scholarly creation and dissemination of new knowledge through exceptional research leadership and grantsmanship in their discipline. George’s professional contributions and accomplishments are outstanding examples of the characteristics the Faculty Fellows program seeks to recognize. George will be recognized at next week’s conference on Tuesday the 13th at 4:30 in room 201(MSC).
