If
we get a really good snowstorm, you'll find me out
at Shingobee Hills south of Walker, taking my first
sled run for the season. I'll be screaming down the
curvy side of the hill on my orange sled
.going
head first because it feels like flying. I'll lose
my hat halfway down, and the new snow will fly up
in my face, temporarily freezing my eyelids. I'll
finally slow down in the flats at the bottom of the
hill and then stand, look up, and realize I have a
long climb back to the top. And I'm smiling. This
is definitely a favorite winter spot with me, with
a little historic flavor, a great trail system, wildlife,
..and yes, a fast steep sledding hill! Shingobee
Hills is one of the best places you can bring your
family for winter fun----a chance to unplug your kids
from high tech gadgets, get them outside and full
of snow! more
