POSITION:  Assistant Molecular Marker Development

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate for our location in Wageningen to strengthen our Research & Development department in the position of Assistant Molecular Marker Development (m/f, fulltime)

The job

As a member of a cross-functional team, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a trait discovery-plant breeding group, applying leading edge technologies to improve traits in vegetable crops.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Developing markers for MAS using all modern techniques

  • Construction of genetic maps using different marker types

  • Sequence data analysis using both public as self generated data

  • Organize and coordinate all kind of general lab activities

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in plant breeding or molecular biology. (In the Dutch system a bachelor’s degree is comparable with HBO)

  • Strong knowledge in Genetics and practical application in molecular marker techniques.

  • Experience in statistical method and in handling data bases in order to deal with large amounts of data (MS Access or similar).

  • Good oral and writing (reporting) skills in Dutch and English

  • You interacts well with people inside and outside the group

  • You are able to adapt quickly in changing situations, are self motivated and pro active.

  • You are also able to prioritize and execute work on time.
