- October 11 - 12 2008: Wild Mushroom Show, Seattle, Washington, USA
What: Puget Sound Mycological Society Wild Mushroom Show: Featuring hundreds of fresh mushroom specimens, color-coded and presented as edible, poisonous or otherwise not recommended, free identification for the public by experts, cooking and tasting demonstrations, and more.
When: Oct. 11, noon-7 p.m., Oct. 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: UW Botanical Gardens Center for Urban Horticulture, 3501 N.E. 41st, Seattle.
Cost: $5-$7

- November 1, 2008: Growing Shiitake Commercially on Logs, Summertown , Tennessee, USA
The staff of Mushroompeople will lecture, take questions, and demonstrate mushroom inoculation on logs to anyone interested in growing shiitake mushrooms. The class begins at 10 am and runs 5 hours. Lunch is $10 and tuition is $15 except to Tennessee residents who will have the tuition fee waived.
