When I learned that no pre-testing or labelling is
necessary for genetically engineered food, I was
aghast -- realizing that, once again, our Food and
Drug Administration is on the side of the producers,
and not the consumers.

The following are of the utmost importance in this
regard: (1) mandatory pre-market comprehensive
environmental review; (2)mandatory pre-market
long-term health testing. (the intelligent French, in
the absent of govt.intervention are simply going out
on their own and destroying industry's GE labs);
(3)The FDA must require mandatory labeling of GE
products.
It's time that the close working relationship between
the FDA and the food industry end!
