Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award (DSA) was established by
the American Home Economics Association (AHEA) Foundation
in 1979 as a living tribute to members of AHEA (now AAFCS)
to recognize superior achievements in family and consumer
sciences, outstanding contributions to the family and consumer
sciences profession, and sustained association leadership
at both state and national levels.
Congratulations to our 2008 DSA Recipients,
who were honored during the Pacesetter Dinner at the
AAFCS 99th Annual Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin!

Read below for an update on the 2009 DSA Awards Program!
To commemorate the Centennial, the 2009 DSA program will pay tribute to all past DSA recipients and their legacies to AAFCS. The DSA nomination process will reopen in Spring 2009 for the selection of individual DSA recipients to be honored in 2010. A review of the DSA program will be undertaken during the next year by a task force of the Development Committee comprised of past DSA winners to consider any updates to the program that will strengthen it for the years ahead.
We look forward to your help in celebrating our first century of DSAs during 2009!
