簡介
近年來低碳水化合物飲食(LCD) 重新受到人們的歡迎,但對於公眾對有益健康的 LCD 的瞭解和認識卻從未進行過考察。我們對公眾對於有益健康的 LCD 的瞭解、利用和認識進行了描述,並按照社會人口統計特徵和傳播變數分析了差異。

方法
運用多變數邏輯回歸,我們分析了「健康資訊全國趨勢調查」(Health Information National Trends Survey, HINTS 2005) 的全國代表性資料,以便研究對 LCD 有益健康作用的瞭解、運用、認識的獨立相關因素。

結果
在美國,人們對 LCD 的瞭解程度非常高 (86.6%)。有關瞭解 LCD 的獨立相關因素包括大學畢業生、非西班牙裔白人和高體重指數 (BMI)。在瞭解 LCD 的受訪者中間,大約 17% 在過去一年中嘗試過 LCD。有關利用 LCD 的獨立相關因素包括女性和高 BMI。三分之一瞭解 LCD 的受訪者贊同LCD 是一種減輕體重的健康途徑。有關認識到 LCD 有益健康的獨立相關因素包括不是中學畢業生以及有可能針對新的營養建議做出相應行為改變。
