Input sought on possible closure remedies for material disposal areas

By James E. Rickman

February 28, 2007

The Laboratory is inviting public input on possible closure remedies for Material Disposal Areas G and L during a public meeting this evening in Los Alamos. The “reception-style” meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the La Vista Room of the Hilltop House hotel, 400 Trinity Drive.

Interested persons can attend the meeting anytime during the one-and-a-half-hour period to learn about the material disposal areas, which are located at Technical Area 54 off Pajarito Road, and offer potential closure ideas or comments if they desire. The event will feature numerous poster presentations, but doesn’t include prepared remarks. Subject-matter hosts will be present at the meeting to provide background information on various aspects of the MDA-G and MDA-L closure projects and answer questions. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit comments or suggestions in writing at the meeting or until March 15.

For more information about the meeting or the MDA-G and MDA-L closure projects, or for information about providing comments, write to envoutreach@lanl.gov by electronic mail or contact Lorrie Bonds Lopez of Remedy Solutions (ERSS-RS) at 7-0216.
