Lab scientists on NOVA this evening

Laboratory scientist Steen Rasmussen is on a NOVA scienceNOW documentary about artificial life that is scheduled to be shown this evening on KNME TV Channel 5.

The show begins at 8 p.m. It is scheduled to be rebroadcast at 2 and 4 a.m., Wednesday, 9 p.m., on Friday, 11 a.m., Oct. 23 and 2 p.m., Oct. 25, according to programming information provided by KNME, the Albuquerque PBS affiliate.

Rasmussen, of Hydrology, Geochemistry and Geology (EES-6), was interviewed for the documentary this summer at his office in the Physics Building at Technical Area 3.

The episode tonight also includes a section on lightning and runaway breakdown. Several Laboratory technical staff members were interviewed for this segment. Ken Eack of Space and Remote Sensing Sciences (ISR-2) and Bob Roussel-Dupre of Atmospheric, Climate and Environmental Dynamics (EES-2) are part of the segment on this area of research.
