Service this evening for Lab employee Herrera

March 25, 2008

A rosary for Laboratory employee Rudy Herrera is this evening in San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, New Mexico. Herrera died last Saturday after a short illness. He was 57.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Herrera lived in Chili in Northern New Mexico and worked in Materials Management (ASM-MM). Herrera began working for the Laboratory in 1989.

The rosary is at 7 p.m. A funeral mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday in the same church.

Herrera is survived by his wife, Antonia; children Jose Rudy, Sofia, and Alfredo; father Jose D. Herrera; brothers Art and Larry; sisters Alice Garcia of Abiquiu and Connie Norris of Albuquerque; mother-in-law Severiana Salazar of CaƱones; and numerous other relatives.

Note: Because employees in Materials Management are being allowed to attend the funeral, mail service and shipping operations may be disrupted on Wednesday.
