Threat Reduction Directorate invites collaboration

By Nancy Ambrosiano

November 26, 2007

Scientific and technical staff members from across the Laboratory can learn about programs and projects in the Threat Reduction Directorate (ADTR) at a colloquium Thursday in the Physics Building Auditorium.

The colloquium begins at 10:30 a.m. and is open to all badge holders.

ADTR program directors will be presenting what they see as new opportunities and areas of interest to the ADTR sponsoring organizations. The TR programs represent a wide range of sponsors and their needs, and to execute these programs into the future TR needs to call on outstanding capabilities from across the Laboratory, said Elizabeth Cantwell, ADTR's office director for strategic development. Threat Reduction's main program areas are in nuclear nonproliferation, defense and international technology, and homeland security.

The directorate invites the Laboratory to come meet each of the program directors and let them describe what their sponsors care about, and how the Laboratory can help them most. "The Threat Reduction programs represent a vital and compelling future component of the Laboratory, and we welcome attendance and questions from those interested in forming that future with us," said Cantwell.
