This project is not on National Forest System lands, however the Forest Service proposes to enter into a challenge cost-share agreement with the private landowner in order to complete the work. Since Federal funds are involved, NEPA compliance is necessary. The decision on this project is not subject to appeal because it does not involve implementing land and resource management plans.
The project will stabilize stream bank and improve riparian condition on about 1,200 feet of the south bank of the Williamson River by placing natural revetment and planting riparian vegetation to restore appropriate river form and function and improve water quality by increasing shade and decreasing sedimentation.
