Hoopa, Calif. -The Hoopa Valley Tribal Council has declared a state of emergency by resolution on June 30th 2008, due to the dangerous smoke levels in the Hoopa Valley area generated from the June 17th lightning storms. The lightning storm that past through the area generated more than 2000 wildfires and are continuing to burn in the Northern California mountainous areas.
