The Smithsonian Institution Archives collects, preserves and makes available the official records of the Institution and special collections documenting Smithsonian staff, artifacts, benefactors, events, exhibits, structures and research. The resources below are available as aids to research. Many of these access tools are available on-line; others require the assistance of a Reference Archivist.

Biographical Information Descriptions of special collections containing biographical information on Smithsonian figures, curators, scientists, collectors, donors, regents, and research associates.

Bibliographies & Publications Bibliographic citations describing published and unpublished materials about the history of the Smithsonian Institution, and publications using SIA collections.
