State and Local Training Advisory Committee (SALTAC)

Up one level

The Advisory Committee was established in 1983 to provide valuable advice to the Office of State and Local Training (OSL) in areas such as training policy; training needs for state and local law enforcement personnel; training curriculum, course content, and evaluation; and student admission, performance, testing and evaluations.

The Committee membership is made up of seven federal and ten state and local representatives. Membership is balanced with:

  • Federal enforcement agencies that work closely with state and local law enforcement agencies.

  • A good cross-section of representatives from state and local law enforcement, as well as their national organizations. Academicians, public administration, and private business are represented also.

The Committee meets biannually and at other times as directed by the co-chairs. More information on the Office of State and Local Training (OSL)'s Advisory Committee can be found at http://fido.gov/facadatabase/ or contact:
