Nothing beyond that code-wise, however if you do work in Japanese, we’d appreciate the feedback to see that everything is in place properly.

New OmniFocus Videos! http://blog.omnigroup.com/2009/01/13/new-omnifocus-videos/ http://blog.omnigroup.com/2009/01/13/new-omnifocus-videos/#comments Wed, 14 Jan 2009 00:02:26 +0000 kaebot http://blog.omnigroup.com/?p=474 Why, hello again! Michaela here. I don’t know if you noticed that fancy title, but there are two new OmniFocus videos available from our friends at ScreenCastsOnline.

The first, found here, is on the basics of OmniFocus. It has some new information not found in the Quick Start video and is a great starting point.

The second, found here, is on OmniFocus advanced usage and the iPhone. It’s a special double-length show that covers topics such as Syncing, the Inspectors, Growl integration, Perspectives, Clippings, and integrating with other applications like Mail and iCal.

As always, the ScreenCastsOnline team does fantastic work. We thank them.

Do check it out!

Update from Macworld: Editor’s Choice Awards and Merlin Madness http://blog.omnigroup.com/2009/01/07/update-from-macworld-editors-choice-awards-and-merlin-madness/ http://blog.omnigroup.com/2009/01/07/update-from-macworld-editors-choice-awards-and-merlin-madness/#comments Thu, 08 Jan 2009 05:31:12 +0000 Linda http://blog.omnigroup.com/?p=472 Very cool news! OmniFocus for iPhone received Editor’s Choice Awards from both The Mac Observer and iPhone Alley today.

Well, very cool for us, anyway. I mean, we totally got placards and everything.

Also, behold the magnetic crowd-draw of Mr. Merlin Mann, whose presentation-fu knows no equal:

I’m not even sure it matters what Merlin’s talking about in this photo, because clearly he’s got everyone gripped in some sort of productivity tractor beam, but I think he was maybe describing the coolness of OmniFocus. The award-winning OmniFocus, that is.

We’ll have presentations going all week long, so plan to come by and have a seat to learn a bit more about our apps — or hey, just rest your aching feet for a while.

We’ll be the ones in fancy black OmniFocus t-shirts, assuming the newest Seattle snowfall doesn’t keep us from leaving town. See you there!

OmniOutliner 3.8 beta 1 released http://blog.omnigroup.com/2008/12/29/omnioutliner-38-beta-1-released/ http://blog.omnigroup.com/2008/12/29/omnioutliner-38-beta-1-released/#comments Tue, 30 Dec 2008 00:18:30 +0000 dmo http://blog.omnigroup.com/?p=458 Happy Holidays! Hopefully all you north-westerners stayed safe during all the snow. Here’s a little holiday gift for all the OmniOutliner users out there. OmniOutliner 3.8 beta 1 is now available which adds Quick Look preview functionality for attachments, the same as OmniFocus has. Now you can easily preview those multipage PDFs or text files like many of you have been wanting to do.

It also fixes an annoying bug which caused the vertical page break indicators to not always be accurate. However, this fix has one small downside, you will not always see the page break indicator once you snap to it. But, you should be able to safely trust that it’s the correct width when you snap to it so you won’t have alternating blank pages printing out.

We’ve also fixed one other bug recently discovered caused by pasting large amounts of text into the batch find field and made another small improvement to the HTML exporters. Full info is available in the release notes.

You’ll find the download page in the usual place. And as always, please contact us if you have any trouble or have any questions by using the Help -> Send Feedback option in the app or at omnioutliner@omnigroup.com.

OmniGraffle 5.1.1 beta 1 is now available http://blog.omnigroup.com/2008/12/10/omnigraffle-511-beta-1-is-now-available/ http://blog.omnigroup.com/2008/12/10/omnigraffle-511-beta-1-is-now-available/#comments Wed, 10 Dec 2008 23:54:23 +0000 Joel http://blog.omnigroup.com/?p=454 While developing OmniGraffle and OmniGraffle Professional 5.1, we wound up changing and adding quite a few strings and what-not, and as a result those corresponding localizations got broken in the process, this beta release has corrected foreign language translations for Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Japanese will be coming shortly in another beta release.

Also of note with this release is a fix to a memory leak related to some caching code; this repairs a common CGSWindow error that would lead to a string of constant crashes, so if you’ve run into a number of stability problems it’s encouraged that you pick up this beta release.

As ever, the beta page awaits.

OmniFocus for iPhone 1.1.2 now available http://blog.omnigroup.com/2008/11/20/omnifocus-for-iphone-112-now-available/ http://blog.omnigroup.com/2008/11/20/omnifocus-for-iphone-112-now-available/#comments Thu, 20 Nov 2008 21:27:35 +0000 kaebot http://blog.omnigroup.com/?p=447 It is true what many of you have heard: Our buddy, OmniFocus for iPhone, has an update. In this update, we corrected a few things including:

  • A bug in which a blank screen could appear after creating a new item
  • A bug in which OmniFocus could become unresponsive after converting an action to a project
  • A new Settings icon to avoid potential confusion with Apple’s Settings application
  • Saved Zion from the machines

Okay, maybe we’re still working on that last one, but you can find a full list of changes, or check out the application in iTunes, here. (This link opens in iTunes.)

Thanks to everyone for their help!

What a long strange trip it’s been. I, OmniFocus 1.5, after months of hard work from my users, engineers, ninjas, and test pilots, have finally gone final. I’m available for download on the OmniFocus page!

    Today was great.

    • I synchronized to another copy of OmniFocus and OmniFocus for iPhone.
    • I changed my Styles with my cool, new Style Preference Pane.
    • I brushed up on my Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.
    • And, I showed off some of my slick bug fixes and interface polish.

You can find a detailed list here, uh, …Diary.

I am so grateful to all my users who helped out along the way.

    Thanks for your support!

    Love, your BFF,

    OmniFocus
