Age-Adjusted Prevalence of Visual Impairment per 100 Adults with Diabetes, by Race/Ethnicity, United States, 1997–2005
Slight decreases in the overall age-adjusted prevalence of visual impairment are apparent in all of the racial/ethnic groups examined. Throughout the time period, no clear differences in prevalence are observed between all the racial/ethnic groups examined. In 2005, the age-adjusted prevalence of visual impairment was 18.0% for whites, 17.7% for blacks, and 19.0 for Hispanics.
