Rock Island Teachs the Teachers About Wetland Restoration
Region 3, June 18, 2007

Environmental Contaminants biologists from the Rock Island, Illinois Ecological Services Field Office gave a presentation about the remediation of a local marsh under CERCLA to a group of educators.

The workshop known as EDIWILD “Teachers in the Wild” was hosted by the Scott County Conservation Board Wapsi River Center.

There were about 30 elementary through high school teachers present.  The presentation by the Service provided information on CERCLA, how sites are investigated, cleaned up, and restored.

The remainder of the one-week workshop focused on Iowa wetlands, outdoor activities for kids, and conservation.
