Dr. Michihiro Nagao, an instrument scientist for the Neutron Spin Echo Spectrometer at the NIST Center for Neutron Research, will receive the 2009 Young Scientist Award of the Physical Society of Japan in the area of Soft Matter Physics. He is being recognized for his paper entitled "Concentration dependence of shape and structure fluctuations of droplet microemulsions investigated by neutron spin echo spectroscopy." Dr. Nagao will be formally recognized at the next Annual Meeting of the Society, which is to be held in Tokyo in March, 2009, where he will give an invited talk on his research.
