A crash course in conservation biology

Canada

Received C$ 17000 in 1998

The Yellowstone to Yukon (Y2Y) Conservation Initiative is based on the emerging science of conservation biology, which offers new ways of evaluating how much habitat, and what kinds of habitat, vulnerable wildlife species need if they are to survive in the long term. Conservation biology is not widely understood, although it may offer responses to pressing current questions about how to conserve rapidly disappearing biodiversity. A 25-minute broadcast quality video will introduce key concepts in conservation biology. It will be suitable for schools, interpretation centers and community groups, and it will contribute to raising awareness and building support for Y2Y and similar initiatives.
