• Manual to establish GMO free regions worldwide (2006):
Donor: Schweissfurth Foundation

To make IFOAM activities and activities from others on organic seed worthwhile, and to safeguard organic seed production, IFOAM is producing a manual on establishing gmo free regions. The manual will explicitly relate the seed topic to the establishment of gmo free regions and therewith contribute to safeguarding the cultural heritage of plant genetic resources.

• Elaboration of a Manual for an effective enhancement of biodiversity on organic farms (from 2006):
Partner: Office for agroecological planning and research (Switzerland)
Donor: Software AG Stiftung

The Rudolf Steiner Foundation Project (2006-2009):
In August 2006, the Rudolf Steiner Foundation (RSF) gave IFOAM a grant of 100,000 US $ to implement activities in the three following areas:

   * Support international accreditation of emerging certification agencies in developing countries;
   * Finance a workshop on the topic “Linking African Organic Exporters with Northern Importers”; and
   * Support a campaign to raise money from successful organic companies in Europe.

The period August 2006 - December 2006 was used by IFOAM to make a detailed planning for the implementation of the 3 activities mentioned above. The project implementation started early 2007 and will last for a 3-year period. The support scheme for international accreditation of developing country certification agencies focuses on African organizations. To support exporters-importers linkages, IFOAM contributed to the Africa Pavilion Project organized during BioFach 2008, in cooperation many other organizations. The final report on this project is available for download in the right column of this page. In the frame of the fundraising campaign, IFOAM decided to focus on the establishment of a foundation to support the organization through an endowment fund.
