Kaulunani improves the health and viability
of trees in Hawaiian communities through educational programs,
financial support in the form of cost-share grants, technical training,
Arbor Day promotion, and partnerships with the public and private
sectors, community groups and not-for-profit organizations.
Since its inception in 1992, Kaulunani has awarded grants totaling
over $1.3 million to more than 200 groups throughout the state.
These organizations matched this federal fund with more than
$4.5 million
in cash and in-kind contributions while beautifying and educating
their communities.
