New executive director of CEC begins term

 
Montreal, 1/09/2006 – The new executive director of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, Adrián Vázquez, began his three-year appointment today with a reception attended by officials from all three North American countries.

Vázquez was announced as the new head of the trinational organization last week by the environment ministers, or equivalent, for Canada, Mexico and the United States. Prior to his appointment, Vázquez was a senior official at Mexico’s environmental ministry, Semarnat.
