SAVE the DATE: Trade and Environment in North America Symposium

Montreal, 15/03/2005 – From 30 November to 1 December 2005, the third North American Symposium on Assessing the Environmental Effects of Trade will focus on the impact of investment and economic growth on the environment. Ten selected papers will be presented on topics ranging from the maquiladora industry in Mexico to Chapter 11 arbitrations in NAFTA.

Researchers from academia, governmental and nongovernmental organizations, and members of the public are invited to the Delta Centre-Ville Hotel in Montreal to participate in the discussions and to contribute to our understanding of the effects of liberalized trade on the North American environment.

Due to limited space, participants are encouraged to register before 14 October 2005. Priority for financial assistance will be given to those who register early. A registration form can be downloaded at www.cec.org/symposium. This web site will be regularly updated with additional information, including the symposium's program agenda, as it becomes available.
