Council reply to JPAC on issues concerning the implementation and further elaboration of Articles 14 and 15 of the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation

Montreal, 18/02/2002 – The Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC) of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) of North America has received a reply from the CEC Council on JPAC's request to consult the public on two issues concerning the implementation and further elaboration of Articles 14 and 15 of the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC). Please note that JPAC should discuss this issue at its next regular session on 8 March in Mexico City, which members of the public are invited to attend as observers.

In addition, as announced in a previous JPAC Bulletin, the public is invited to participate in a joint meeting of the Expert Advisory Board on Children's Health and the Environment in North America and JPAC, to be held on 7 March at the same location.

The Council letter and the JPAC Bulletin containing more information about the upcoming CEC meetings of 7-8 March in Mexico, may be found on the JPAC web page at: <http://www.cec.org/jpac>.

JPAC is a 15-member, independent, volunteer body that provides advice and public input to Council on any matter within the scope of NAAEC.
