Montreal, 21/11/1996 – North America's three National Councils on Sustainable Development will meet in Montreal on November 22 to contribute to "Rio + 5", an examination of the world’s progress towards sustainability since the historic Earth Summit held in Rio de Janeiro five years ago. Senior representatives of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (Canada), the President’s Council on Sustainable Development (USA) and the National Council on Sustainable Development (Mexico) will discuss the role that national multistakeholder institutes can play in assisting their governments to achieve national and global environmental and economic objectives.
