Montreal, 9/04/1997 – The CEC is calling for Requests for Proposals (RFP) to develop a draft Implementation Plan for the first-ever regional action plan to manage PCBs. The Regional Action Plan (RAP) on PCB Management was created by the PCB Task Force in accordance with CEC's Council #95-5, Sound Management of Chemicals, which established a framework to promote regional cooperation for the sound management, throughout their life cycles, of chemical substances of mutual concern. The PCB RAP will be one of several Regional Action Plans for chemicals of concern.
To implement the decisions and commitments outlines in this Action Plan, the CEC calls for Requests for Proposal (RFP), whose specific objectives are to:
- facilitate a four-day Workshop of the PCB Task Force;
- prepare a Meeting Summary and Framework Document from the Workshop for the PCB Task Force;
- prepare the draft Implementation Plan for the PCB RAP, participate
in a one-day public meeting on the draft Implementation Plan; and
- prepare a Response to Comments document and the final draft of the Implementation Plan.
