Publication of the Workshop Report on Priorities for North American Cooperation for 1999-2001

Montreal, 31/08/1998

Following the Fifth Regular Session of the Council of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) in June in Mérida, Yucatán, a report was prepared following the public workshop on the Priorities for North American Cooperation for 1999-2001.

The purpose of the workshop, chaired by Ms. Mary Simon, Chair of the Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC), was to provide the attending public with an overview of the five main program areas of the CEC and the associated activities for 1998. The objective was also to engage the public in a dialogue to provide its views and perspectives on the priorities of the three-year program plan recently committed to by the Council.

The results of this workshop are summarized in the report, which also lists recommendations that have been presented to Council.
