$74 Million Awarded to Tribal Programs Promoting Mental Health, Preventing and Treating Substance Abuse, and Supporting Recovery (10/28/08)

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded grants in fiscal year 2008 that are projected to provide more than $74 million in grants to federally recognized tribes or tribal organizations serving the mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment needs of American Indian and Alaska Native populations.

New SAMHSA Report Examines the Impact of Mental Health Self-Disclosure (10/24/08)

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has released a new report which reviews existing public health literature on how people who receive mental health services can be affected when they disclose this fact to others.

National "Voice Awards" to Honor Those in the Entertainment Industry and Mental Health Consumers Who Make a Positive Difference for Mental Health (10/23/08)

The Voice Awards are nationally renown honors bestowed each year upon writers and producers who incorporate respectful, accurate portrayals of people with mental illnesses into film and television productions.
