IFAS Faculty Post Extraordinary Growth In External Funding FY Year to Date

Awards for the month of October alone totaled $13,647,647.78. Our quarterly fiscal year total now stands at $36,098,485.98. This amount is approximately one half of the entire FY 2008 total all accomplished in the first four months. We should particularly recognize Dr. Jeffrey Brecht and his collaborators for their $4,008,960 award from the US Army! Coupled with ever increasing awards from all parts of IFAS we see a significant jump compared with the same time period for last year of $10.5M which is over 40% growth on a year to date basis.

Agronomic Research: The University of Florida has maintained a strong international reputation in evaluation, management and utilization of tropical and cool-season forages. Recently, emphasis has been placed on environmental impact of forage production practices.
