Pledges are voluntary, and should be specific and action-oriented. There will be a session dedicated exclusively to pledges submitted before the start of the conference on the final day of WIREC 2008.
Please note that the pledges received before the conference will not be publicized prior to the start of WIREC, unless the pledging entity chooses to make an announcement.

Publicizing Your Pledge at WIREC 2008
Participants with pledges accepted for the Washington International Action Program can take advantage of the WIREC 2008 Pledge Desk to publicize their pledges as follows:
1. Inclusion of a summary and/or the expected results of your pledge in a slide show displayed on 2 large-screen plasma televisions in the conference center
2. Inclusion of a summary and/or the expected results of your pledge in a daily update that will be posted on www.WIREC2008.gov
3. Inclusion of a summary and/or the expected results of your pledge in a daily morning bulletin available to all conference participants
4. Assistance arranging a media availability to announce your pledge.
