The map below links to Master Gardener
websites in the United States. Links to Master Gardener programs
in three Canadian provinces are listed below as well.
Clicking on the map and links below will connect you to some
of the best, regionally-specific advice you can get on
gardening. The Master Gardener
program, conducted throughout the United States and Canada,
is a two-part educational effort, in which avid gardeners
are provided many hours of intense home horticulture
training, and in return they "pay back" local university
extension agents through volunteerism. Master Gardeners
assist with garden lectures, exhibits, demonstrations,
school and community gardening, phone diagnostic service,
research, and many other projects.

The creation of this Web page was underwritten by the
American Horticultural Society
and the Canadian Sphagnum
Peat Moss Association.
CSPMA is a
trade organization set up to educate gardeners on the best
ways to use peat moss. It also acts as an advocate for the
resource, sponsoring in-depth
research on
restoration education on restoration techniques and
promotion of the
Association’s Preservation and Reclamation Policy.
The Association has on
its website a
teaching
plan entitled Soil Amendments and Growing Media that is
used by several universities and colleges as an introductory
class in horticulture. Master Gardener instructors are
invited to download this teaching plan for their use.
