This course is designed to be presented as an independent course or as part of the ACT FAST course. This 4- to 6-hour course is designed to initiate emergency workers to the proper way to protect persons from contamination by donning PPE; removing potentially contaminated PPE without contaminating the wearer; recognizing the limitations of PPE; knowing when and how to
use chemical detector kits; and knowing state and local work rules, policies, and procedures, as
well as those used by CSEPP.
Selection Criteria: This course is designed to prepare personnel to perform the functions identified in Appendix L on Personal Protective Equipment for the CSEPP Planning Guidance and Standards: program participants, decon station personnel, and emergency medical personnel.
