IS Members Respond to the
Economic Downturn

Map, compiled by IS member the Foundation Center, displays the distribution of the most recent support by U.S. foundations to aid those affected by the economic downturn.

Wall Street's troubles have come to affect virtually every American. Charities and foundations are feeling the impact in two ways: a growing demand for services from people in need, and insufficient resources to meet ongoing commitments and explore new areas of activity. IS has been working with its members to track current conditions, share that information, and support policies and strategies that will enable nonprofits to continue to improve lives.
