  River Farm - Volunteers
 
   
 

There are always many projects and events going on at River Farm that need the expertise and presence of volunteers. Here are some current volunteer opportunities and some on the horizon:

HORTICULTURAL ASSISTANT

Work in our gardens with our professional Horticultural Staff, mulching, planting, weeding, preparing beds and other gardening chores. Year-round, weather permitting.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Working in our offices, data entry, word processing, filing, typing, envelope stuffing and other general office activities. Computer skills would be greatly appreciated.

EDITORIAL ASSISTANT

Help in the publications department, which includes The American Gardener magazine and various book projects. Basic computer skills are appreciated.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR ASSISTANT

Contact potential volunteers and recruit from area garden clubs and volunteer organizations for special projects and ongoing AHS needs.

SPECIAL AND ONGOING EVENTS

  • Annual Plant Sale 

SEED EXCHANGE PROGRAM

Clean, catalogue, package seeds and assist in filling orders (November - March)

ANNUAL FALL FUNDRAISING EVENT

The AHS's gala is held in September at River Farm. Volunteers are needed for planning, preparations, and a variety of tasks..
