This policy establishes how the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI) will use information we gather about you from your visit to our Web site. The privacy of our users is of utmost importance to the Institute.

If you visit the NSBRI site:

  1. To read or download information:
    We may collect and store information for statistical purposes. For example, we may count the number of visitors to the different areas of the site to help us make them more useful to visitors.

  2. To send us an E-mail:
    By sending us an electronic mail message, you may be sending us personal information, such as name, address or e-mail address. We may store the name and address of the requester in order to respond to the inquiry or to otherwise resolve the subject matter of your e-mail.

  3. To register:
    Subscribers to the NSBRI E-News Service are asked for their e-mail address. No other information is requested. We do not share this information with third parties, nor will we adopt a policy to do so.
For evaluation purposes, future surveys may be implemented. But, the information that may be collected through questionnaires, feedback forms or other means, will only be used to determine a visitor's interests, with the goal of providing better service to our users.

We want to be very clear: regardless of the information being transmitted to the Institute, we will protect all such information consistent with applicable law.

Headquartered at Baylor College of Medicine, the NSBRI is in compliance with the HIPAA regulations (PDF). HIPAA regulations outline the responsibilities of health care providers and insurance plans to guard the privacy of all personal (or protected) health information -- written, electronic or oral.
