Road Status: Weather permitting the road is open 24 hours a day.

Weather:  31 degrees with fog and winds 5-10 mph.

Avalanche Danger:

New Snow:
  4" in last 24 hours.

Snow Depth: 80" (reported May 7)

Ski Lift Status: Closed for the season.

Sledding: ONLY the intermediate ski slope (rope-tow slope) north of Visitor Center parking lot is open to sliding as conditions allow. Sunrise sliding area is closed (area 1/3 mi below visitor center).

General Information:



  • The road may close with short notice due to severe weather, unsafe road conditions or a full parking lot.
  • The road is open (weather permitting) from 9AM to 4PM Friday through Sunday and Holiday Mondays, as well as Dec. 22 - Jan. 4 (except Christmas). Closed Mondays through Thursdays through May 7, 2009.
  • Sledding areas may close should conditions become icy and unsafe. For safety, metal, hard plastic runner sleds or wooden tobaggans are not permitted. 
  • Ski & snowshoe rentals and snack bar are closed for the season.
