SHASTA COLLEGE ART GALLERY ANNOUNCES FIRST DISPLAY OF SPRING: THE DRAWINGS OF LUCY PULS

REDDING, CA – The Shasta College Arts, Communications and Social Sciences division announces the first art exhibit of the spring semester. Displayed in the Shasta College Art Gallery (building 300) from January through February 20, is the art of Lucy Puls.  Lucy Puls series “Sed Etiam” (from the Latin “not only...but also”) are drawings which function as the genesis and conclusion to her three dimensional works.  Originating from working photographs which catalog studio progress, “Puls transforms the images with enamel paint - thereby suspending the viewer’s frame of reference and reinventing the drawing as an independent work possessing its own “aesthetic resonance.”  Lucy Puls will be conducting a lecture in the Humanities lecture hall (room 400) on Friday, January 30 at 11 am.  Interested parties are invited to attend.

This exhibit is presented by the Shasta College Arts, Communications and Social Sciences Division and provided courtesy of the Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco. For more information and for Gallery hours, contact the Arts, Communications and Social Sciences division at (530) 242-7730.
