Libraries for Life
Million Dollar Challenge

Join the community of donors that believes Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh builds and sustains neighborhoods. With your contribution to Libraries for LIFE, you have the power and the privilege to shape the future - to help individuals reach their potential, to stabilize and strengthen our communities and to ensure that Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh remains "free to the people." Starting Now, your gift can double in value! The Richard King Mellon Foundation has agreed to MATCH every dollar raised for our Capital Campaign up to ONE MILLION DOLLARS!

One Million Dollar Challenge

The Challenge: To raise a total of one million dollars in gift from individuals like YOU!

The Reward: An additional one million dollars toward the Libraries for LIFE Capital Campaign from the Richard King Mellon Foundation.

The Richard King Mellon Foundation agreed to the challenge grant in order to encourage community members to donate to the capital campaign and support the libraries that are so vital to Pittsburgh's neighborhoods. Current Libraries for LIFE projects include two new library buildings in the Hill District and North Side and an expansion and renovation of CLP-East Liberty.
