What are RSS feeds?

These feeds allow you to see when GRAIN (or other websites) have added new content without necessarily visiting the GRAIN website. You can get all the latest updates from this and other websites all in one place, usually some kind of news reader. You can also use these feeds to automatically show these same updates on other websites.

So I need a news reader?

Yes, you can either have a news reader installed on your computer, or you can have a news reader online. The latter is usually the best choice if you have an always-on good broadband connection.

Examples of online news readers include:

• Use the Firefox browser (GRAIN encourages you to use the Firefox browser) and then use the Sage extension.

• The Google reader, or even your personalised Google page are excellent news readers. Yahoo and others all offer similar types of news readers.
