Food & Society Conference 2004From Tension to Reality: Food Systems for Our Future Generating a Vision for Food Systems that Includes Healthy Communities, People and Ecosystems Participants of the Food and Society Networking Conference explored new ways to create future food systems. Food Systems that provide for all segments of society a safe and nutritious food supply grown in a manner that protects health and the environment and adds economic and social value to rural and urban communities. Attendees heard diverse perspectives on food, health and cultural heritage; stewardship of the environment; economic viability of food and agricultural enterprises, social justice and the food system; and the links between food, our health, and agriculture policy.
