Theme pages describe NOAA stragetic goals on the World Wide Web

This paper describes the development of NOAA Strategic Goal theme pages, which clearly present and explain each of NOAA's seven Strategic Goals (NOAA Strategic Plan, 1995) on the World Wide Web (WWW). The Strategic Goals theme pages (http:// www.pmel.noaa.gov/noaa-strategic/) include contextual and explanatory information, prepared in concert with a team of theme experts (scientists, program managers, and/or potential users) for each strategic goal, and will include links to timely and relevant information related to the theme from widely distributed sources on the Web.
