General Rate Policy

Terms
Net 30 days. No cash discount. After 30 days, a 10% Late Fee will be added to the balance.
Agency Commission
15% on gross billing to recognized agencies, unless otherwise stated. Advertiser and advertiser's agent are responsible for payment within 30 days of publication. Agency commissions will be revoked on billing unpaid 60 days after billing date. Payment with order required from all first-time advertisers and/or agencies.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations and/or changes must be in writing and acknowledged in writing by closing date. If canclleation is made after the materials deadline, the advertiser will be charged the full price of the ad.
Short Rates and rebates
Advertisers will be short-rated if within a 12-month period from the date of their first insertion they do not use the amount of space upon which their billing have been based.


Publisher's copy protective clause:
The publisher reserves the right to reject any advertising not in keeping with the publisher's standards. All copy is subject to the publisher's approval.

Publisher's publishing standard guidelines: Regulations (pdf format)
The following guidelines are not exhaustive and are designed to provide general guidelines for the sales of advertising in AWWA's print and electronic publications:

  1. Advertisements must be truthful and may not make false or misleading claims about the advertised company, its products or services, or about any other person or company, its product or service.
  2. Advertisement must not misuse or misappropriate any other party's intellectual property rights, or defame or disparage any other person, company, product or service.
  3. Advertisements must not contain graphics, photos, or language that is deemed offensive to our readers or that does not reflect positively on AWWA's reputation.
  4. Advertisements cannot imply AWWA endorsement of the company or its product, or any affiliation between AWWA and the advertising company.
  5. All advertisements must meet the specifications as described in the media kit.
  6. Advertisements for competing products or services may be rejected.
  7. AWWA may at any time, without prior notice, and without obligation or liability, remove any advertisement that AWWA deems not to be in compliance with its guidelines.
  8. AWWA is not responsible for the form or content of advertisement submitted by others, and does not assume obligation to verify compliance with its guidelines.
  9. Advertisers must defend and indemnify AWWA against any claims and liabilities arising from the advertiser's noncompliance with the above.
  10. The publisher shall not be liable for any failure to print, publish, or circulate all of any portion of any issue.
