Register early for the Invasive Plant Council's annual public forum, "Stop the Spread!", to be held January 20th - 22nd, 2009, at the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel in Richmond, BC. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to network with other invasive plant specialists from BC, Canada and around the world! Registration is limited to 130 participants so be sure register early!
Featuring international guest speakers from Australia, Oregon and Washington, topics will include informed choices and practical solutions for invasive plant management. Tuesday's sessions will conclude with a nibble and network reception in mid-afternoon. Wednesday will feature Brian Minter from Minter Gardens who will discuss "being a credible leader in the field of sustainability" along with a number of other dynamic speakers from around the globe.
For an extra fee, join us for Thursday's optional, classroom-based Working Towards Ecological Restoration Workshop titled "Ecological Restoration & Invasive Plant Management: Solutions for a Changing Climate", which is designed to assist BC's land managers and others in addressing invasive plant issues while meeting ecological restoration objectives. Space is limited to 30 participants so be sure to register early. If you are planning on attending this workshop please complete the attached workshop questionnaire and submit it by 10AM on January 22nd. Results from the questionnaires will help shape the afternoon's dialogue sessions.
New to this year's forum are conference booths and displays. If you are interested in showcasing your organization please indicate your interest by checking the "Conference/Display Booth" box on the registration form and include the additional fee with your forum registration form. Space is limited to 15 conference booths so be sure to register early.
