Caroline Kennedy Senior Director of Field Conservation

Areas of Expertise: Alaska wolves, bird conservation issues, pesticides, Species Restoration Partnerships

Caroline provides guidance and assistance to Defenders' eight field offices. She also coordinates the organization’s campaign to end the aerial hunting of wolves in Alaska, and is the lead staff on bird conservation issues including the threats that pesticides pose to birds and other wildlife. She is a founding member of the National Pesticide Reform Coalition, the Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (an EPA federal advisory committee), and a member of the Bird Conservation Alliance.

Before joining Defenders of Wildlife in 1993, Caroline was a land use planner in Virginia. She has bachelor’s degree in biology from James Madison University and a master’s degree in Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia.
