Filling the Gaps

Region 3, March 7, 2007

With the retirements of Project Leader Mark Dryer, Administrative Assistant Joan Bratley and Fishery Biologist Lee Newman, and departure of Fishery Biologist Jonathan Pyatskowit to a new position with the Menominee Tribe, the workload distribution at the Ashland FRO continues to evolve.

Ashland FRO staff responsible for Lake Superior aquatic ecosystem activities continue to fill in gaps and carry out workload of departed individuals.  Examples of additional workload include editing and submission of a draft of the report, Strategic Approach to Problem Identification and Monitoring of Aquatic Invasive Species within Great Lakes Inventory and Monitoring Network Park Units, to the Great Lakes Inventory and Network office.

This project is part of a reimbursable agreement between the offices.  Staff is also working to meet commitments for reimbursable agreements with the Red Cliff Band and Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.  New or expanded duties such as travel vouchers, purchase reimbursements, tracking of reimbursable agreement expenditures, and contract management are also being learned and conducted.
