For the past few decades, facilitation has been a rather poorly understood skill, mastered mostly by Human Resources professionals and largely associated with running better meetings. Today facilitation is fast becoming recognized as a core competency for anyone who is in a leadership position, whether they lead a department, manage a project or lead a team. This is due to the fact that leaders are riding wave after wave of change and need to know how to create buy-in, generate active participation and empower people to take charge. In today's work place, leaders need to be coaches, mentors, sponsors and teachers. At the core of each of these new roles is the skill of facilitation. The Facilitation Strategies for Leaders workshop is an introduction to the core concepts, tools and techniques of facilitation, with special emphasis on how these tools are used to gain buy-in and develop teams. The workshop features multiple opportunities for each participant to practice their skills and receive feedback. Everyone leaves with core skills, plus back-home implementation strategies.
