America's Child

Providing college education and welfare assistance to children whose parents lost their lives in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and the Philippines and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Register surviving children to qualify them for services.

America's Promise Alliance (APA)

Committed to seeing that children experience the fundamental resources they need to succeed in life; caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education and opportunities to help others. Encompasses more than 105 partner organizations representing the business community, non-profits, communities and policymakers.

American Association of People with Disabilities

Cross-disability member organization dedicated to ensuring economic self-sufficiency and political empowerment for Americans with disabilities.

American Council of the Blind (ACB)

Advocates for Americans who are blind or visually impaired. Has more than 25,000 members organized in 70+ state and special-interest affiliates.

American Foundation for the Blind

Works to ensure that Americans who are blind or visually impaired enjoy the same rights and opportunities as other citizens.

American Gold Star Mothers, Inc.

An organization of mothers who have lost a son or daughter in the service of our country, which provides support to these mothers and their families and works with Veterans and other Veteran organizations.

American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA)

Advocates for people with disabilities in their medical rehabilitation recovery. Represents rehabilitation hospitals, rehabilitation units in general hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities and home health agencies.

American Soldier Foundation Resource Center

Provides an online resource center that gives families helpful information on personal finance, employment, marriage, family, retirement and education.

Angel Flight for Veterans

Offers no-cost or reduced-rate patient travel services for needy Veterans and their families.

Association for Service Disabled Veterans (ASDV)

Non-profit public benefit organization that works to create opportunities for Service Disabled Veterans to achieve and maintain their rehabilitation through enterprise development and managed employment.

Better Business Bureau (BBB) Military Line

Provides Service Members and their families with consumer education and advocacy, including a variety of free consumer services and materials to military personnel and special military Web pages.

Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc.

Non-profit service organization that supports mothers and their children while promoting patriotism. Members are mothers who now have, or have had, children honorably serving in the military.

Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA)

Information on the causes, types and degrees of brain injuries. Includes a list of frequently asked questions about living with a brain injury and contact information for BIAA state offices.

Bugles Across America

Performs live renditions of Taps played by a Bugler at honor and memorial ceremonies.

Christopher & Dana Reeve Paralysis Foundation

Funds research for treatments and cures for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other central nervous system disorders. Works to improve the quality of life for people living with disabilities through grant programs, paralysis resource center and advocacy efforts.

Coalition for Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans

Partnership of organizations that provide services to Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veterans and their families.

Elks National Foundation

Invests in communities where Elks live and work through community development, drug awareness, scholarships and services for Veterans.

Families United for Our Troops & Their Mission

A not-for-profit organization comprised of a grassroots coalition of Gold Star and Blue Star families that support Service Members and Veterans.

Gold Star Dads of America

Allows fathers of soldiers to honor and support the families of fallen heroes.

Hearing Loss Association of America

Provides people with hearing loss information, education, advocacy and support. Learn more about HLAA's partnership with the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology to address the educational needs of Veterans of recent conflicts. Veterans of OIF and OEF are offered a complimentary one-year membership in HLAA.

Hearing Loss Association of America Convention 2009

Service Members and Veterans returning from OEF and OIF with hearing loss are offered free registration to the HLAA convention along with a complimentary one-year membership. Works to increase opportunities for people with disabilities by identifying barriers to participation in society and promoting best practices and universal design.

National 4-H

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Veterans Resource Center

Works to improve the public's understanding of county government and assists counties in finding and sharing innovative solutions. Features include changes to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the housing stimulus package.

National Association of Social Workers (NASW)

Works to enhance the professional growth and development of its professional social worker members, to create and maintain professional standards and to advance sound social policies.

National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs

Works to secure uniformity, equality, efficiency and effectiveness in providing services to Veterans and their families, especially in regards to claims representation.

National Association of Veterans' Program Administrators

A nationally recognized professional organization for people working in campus based and community based Veterans' programs.

National Association of the Deaf

Safeguards the accessibility and civil rights of Americans who are deaf and hard of hearing in the areas of education, employment, health care and telecommunications.

National Center on Physical Activity & Disability (NCPAD)

Provides information and resources related to physical activity and disability and promotes the health benefits that can be gained from participating in regular physical activity. Use their 14-Week Plan to a Healthier You to receive weekly tips from a Virtual Trainer that will help keep you motivated to stay on track for your health and fitness goals for 2009.

National Council on Independent Living (NCIL)

Advances independent living and the rights of people with disabilities. Includes a special resource section for Veterans.

National Federation of the Blind (NFB)

Works to improves the lives of people who are blind through advocacy, education, research, a technology center and programs encouraging independence and self-confidence.

National Governors Association (NGA)

Organization of the nation's governors that promotes visionary state leadership, shares best practices and speaks with a unified voice on national policy. National League of Cities (NLC)

Represents municipal governments throughout the United States and works to strengthen and promote cities as centers of opportunity, leadership and governance. Topics include transportation and infrastructure, housing and community development and youth, education and families.

National Organization on Disability (NOD)

Expands the participation and contribution of those with disabilities in all aspects of life.

National Rehabilitation & Rediscovery Foundation

A non-profit community based organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with brain injuries and other neurological disabilities. Programs and services include cognitive rehabilitation, case management, life skills training and movement therapy. The Hope Project, located at Virginia Tech's Northern Virginia Center, is a transitional community re-integration/independent living program designed to provide disabled Veterans and their families with a comprehensive, community-integrated program to increase independence and self-sufficiency.

National Spinal Cord Injury Association

Provides local and national training, information and resources for individuals with spinal cord injuries, their family members and professionals. Call toll-free helpline 1-800-962-9629.

National Transplant Assistance Fund's (NTAF) Catastrophic Injury Program

Helps patients to mobilize their communities to fundraise for uninsured expenses related to Catastrophic Injury, including home and vehicle modifications and home health care.

Olive Branch International

Provides humanitarian services to the international military community by offering counseling, education and training, including needed moral, mental and material support.

Paralysis Resource Center

Information, resources and referral services for people living with a spinal cord injury, mobility impairment or paralysis.

Rape Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)

Operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673), educates the public about sexual assault and leads national efforts to prevent sexual assault, improve services to victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.

Twin Towers Orphan Fund

Provides long-term higher educational assistance and mental and physical health care assistance for children who lost parents in the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon, or onboard the four downed airliners, and children of victims of future terrorist attacks.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Represents more than three million businesses of all sizes, sectors and regions. Includes hundreds of associations, thousands of local chambers and Chambers of Commerce in 94 countries.

United Spinal Association

National non-profit membership organization formed by paralyzed Veterans whose mission is to improve the quality of life of Americans with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D). Membership is free and open to all individuals with SCI/D.

Way Station Veteran Programs in Maryland

Provides Veterans a broad range of services including job training, employment referrals, counseling, mental health or substance abuse services, housing and help with VA related issues.
