Scholarship – Applicant Requirements and Particulars
Pennsylvania Heartland Unit ScholarshipThe Pennsylvania Heartland Unit of The Herb Society of America, a group dedicated to the purpose of studying and actively sharing horticulture history, and the use of herbs, is pleased to offer a $1,500.00 scholarship to a student within the study of horticulture. It will be awarded to a student living in the Heartland area, which are, Berks, Montgomery, York, Lancaster and Schuylkill counties. The applicant must be a third or fourth year student within the study of horticulture.

announce that it will be awarding one $1000 scholarship to a deserving
student in the spring of 2005. The scholarship will be awarded
to a student who is studying agronomy, horticulture, botany, or a
closely-related discipline at an accredited four-year college or
university. The student must be either a permanent resident of
Texas or attending an accredited college or university in Texas.
The student must have completed two full years of college and be
entering the Junior or Senior year of studies. For details and application, visit the South Texas Unit website: The Western Reserve Herb SocietyThe Western Reserve Herb Society will award two (2) undergraduate scholarships for the year 2009-2010. Francis Sylvia Zverina ScholarshipOne scholarship of $2000 will be awarded to a student with a good scholastic standing who is an American citizen in need of financial assistance, who is studying horticulture or related fields such as landscape architecture and horticultural therapy, and whose horticultural career goals involve teaching/research or work in the public sector. Applicants must have completed their 2nd/Sophomore or 3rd/Junior year of an undergraduate school by August 2009 or 4th/Senior year in a 5-year undergraduate program and may be residents of any state who are attending an accredited college or university anywhere in the United States. Western Reserve Herb Society ScholarshipOne scholarship of $4000 will be awarded to a deserving undergraduate student who is an Ohio resident studying horticulture or a related field such as landscape architecture and horticultural therapy and whose horticulture career goals involve teaching/research or work in the public sector. Applicants must have completed one full year of college. Students entering their 2nd/Sophomore, 3rd/Junior, 4th/Senior, or 5th year in a 5-year undergraduate program are also eligible. Student applicants may be attending an accredited college or university anywhere in the United States. Ohio residents completing 2nd/Sophomore, 3rd/Junior, or 4th/Senior year in a five-year undergraduate program by August 2009 may apply for both the Frances Sylvia Zverina and the Western Reserve Herb Society Scholarships. An Ohio resident need only write one application as long as it is clear that the student is applying for both. An award winner may only be the recipient of one scholarship, however.
