Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) – International Programs

A unique feature of FHWA’s international program is the Joint AASHTO/FHWA/NCHRP International Technology Scanning Program, which sponsors comprehensive fact-finding missions overseas to seek out best practices that can be applied to the U.S. transportation system. Two completed scans relevant to occupational road safety are Transportation Workforce Development (2001) and Commercial Vehicle Safety Technology and Practice in Europe (1998).

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) – Cross-Border/NAFTA

FMCSA is the focal point for safety rules related to expanded operation of Mexican and Canadian trucking companies within the U.S., a result of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Global Road Safety Partnership

The Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) brings together government agencies, the private sector, and civil society organizations to address road safety issues in low and middle income countries. International Road Transport Accident Database (IRTAD)
